Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Your three-day desert tourfrom Marrakech to Merzouga will begin early in the morning with a drive east of Marrakech through a few small suburban towns to the High Atlas Mountains. There will be several stops along the way where you can take pictures, enjoy the view, stretch your legs, and have a cup of tea. Prior to reaching Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, the primary destination for sightseeing on this day, ascend along winding roads to the renowned Tizi Ntichka pass. The fortified Berber village of Ait Ben Haddou is not just a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but it was also the setting for several well-known Hollywood epics, including Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Kingdom of Heaven. Start your journey to Dades Valley after eating lunch at a neighbourhood café. You'll stop along the way at Ouarzazate, Skoura Oasis, and Klaa Mgouna. The Valley of the Roses' capital, Klaa Mgouna, is well-known for its artisanal rose water distilling facilities. Once at Boumalne Dades, follow a small road that parallels the Dades River and passes various Kasbahs that have been fortified en route to the Dades Canyons. This road may take you to the Dades Canyons. When you get there, it's planned for you to check into your hotel late in the afternoon. Including dinner and one night at the hotel.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi Dunes

We will start our tour by driving to the oasis of Tinghir along the route taken by 1001 Kasbahs. We'll veer off onto a smaller road from there, which will take us to Todgha across the river. You will pause en route to Todgha Gorges to have a stroll in the palm-shaded oasis. Following lunch at a local café (At leisure) and some free time to take in the enormity of the cliffs, we depart early in the afternoon for Rissani, which is well-known for its dates market and for being the starting point for historic trade caravans that cross the Sahara desert to reach Tomboctou. We will travel through some harsh and desolate desert terrain on our way to Merzouga after having a brief rest. We encourage you to join our camel caravan after you arrive at Merzouga and ride your camels over the stunning sand dunes as the sun sets in the distance. We reach the tent we set out in the Sahara desert before nightfall. Once you've seen the sand dunes and the surrounding area, prepare for a typical Moroccan dinner that will be served beside the bonfire and under the stars. Your native nomadic hosts will treat you to a drumming performance late in the evening.
